GRAMMY Fashion Winners

GRAMMY Fashion Winners and Losers

The 58th Annual GRAMMY Awards were earlier this week.  Take a look at the GRAMMY nominees, here.  The most important night in music is also one of the most important nights of red carpet fashion. Here you will find my top picks for “Not So Hot Fashion” and “Hot Fashion” for the night.

Not So Hot Fashion

Dencia

A lot of shade was being thrown when Dencia stepped out of her pink Rolls Royce wearing a pink Pepto- Bismol colored pajama onesie with matching bejeweled heels. The September Standard said it best:

Dencia Leads the Pack of the Worst Dressed At the 58th Grammys – February 16, 2016
The Grammys are currently underway and even though the red carpet is over, most moments are more memorable than the others, such as the worst dressed. Normally, the Grammy awards is known for the most extravagant display of outfits when it comes to what celebs wear, but some miss the mark by going overboard with their ‘creativity’ and when this happens, the lot sit comfortably in the worst dressed section. However, for most of these women it was a classic case of too much going on at once. Dencia, for example, had so much going on her jumpsuits, we didn’t know what to make out of it anymore. Between the bedazzled shoes, pink jumpsuit and the many Hello Kitties, it’s hard to keep focus.

Joy Villa

Joy Villa follows on my list of “Not So Hot Fashion” while wearing practically nothing but black plastic strips covering her modesty. Looks like she confused her Halloween costume invitation with her Grammy invitation. This confusion must have also caused her to trip and fall into the fashion disaster sink hole. Not sure if she was trying to make a fashion statement, start a trend or just look a HOT MESS. I ran to Twitter to see what the Twitterverse thoughts were and here is what the fans had to say:

Hot Fashion

Ciara

Enough of what was not hot, let’s talk about HOT Fashion…  Ciaraaaaaaaa…. brought the HEAT to the red carpet!!  The 5’10” Ciara rocked a high-slit Alexandre Vauthier haute couture dress. She looked amazing very classy but yet tasteful and the crowd screams “Russell Wilson scores the WINNING touchdown.”

Last but not least Janelle Monáe, Miss Fashionista herself, she always brings the fashion heat with her creativity and sparky upbeat style.  She hit the red carpet rocking an avante garde look in a Jean Paul Gaultier creation, keeping true to her signature black-and white theme. Accessorized with earrings and a ring by Pasquale Bruni and Carrera y Carrera diamond rings.

Since her first full album, The ArchAndroid, in 2010 Janelle Monáe has received six Grammy Award nominations. She also has a long list of nominations and awards including MTV Music Video, BET, Soul Train, and Essence. She continues to show of her beauty and style as a Cover Girl spokeswoman.
