What is your current go to song?

This week it has been Meshell Ndegeocello and Whodini that have been on my mind with “Friends.”  In the weeks after celebrating my birthday I have had a chance to reflect on the dear friends that I have.  The lyrics of the song say it all…

Friends, how many of us have them? …

Is a word we use everyday
Most the time we use it in the wrong way
Now you can look the word up, again and again
But the dictionary doesn’t know the meaning of friends
And if you ask me, you know, I couldn’t be much help
Because a friend is somebody you judge for yourself
Some are okay, and they treat you real cool
But some mistake kindness for bein’ a fool”  – Whodini

What event are you looking forward to attending?

The major event for me this week is the Y&T concert at the 120 Tavern.  Not quite an emerging band, Y&T have been playing hard rock and heavy metal since the early 70’s.  It’s a trip down memory lane that I will get to share with some friends.

Who is an artist that everyone needs to check out?

This week I discovered the electronic music project Haywyre .  Started by Martin Vogt in 2009, the Haywyre project blends electronic music with classical music and jazz.  Pay Haywyre a listen and add them to your Libro Musica.

Which artist has the best catalog of love songs?

Luther Vandross is my top choice for love songs.  From his first album, Never Too Much, in 1981 through his last, Dance with My Father, in 2003, Luther has put together a series of songs that need to be on everyone’s playlist for an intimate evening.
