Music Monday: March 28th

Every week the Libro Musica team and some of our favorite music bloggers will share what we are listening to and a peek into the future of what we will be adding to our music libraries.  We also have posts from guest bloggers: Gemma from Planet Lux, Kerry Wittig from Up Front NY,  Christine from Nash News and Holland from Southern Princess Problems.

Who is an artist that everyone needs to check out?

I recently discovered SwingGrowers an Italian electro swing band.  If you enjoy jazz, big band or electronica you may become a new found fan of the genre.  This is exactly what happened to me after hearing the SwinGrowers album Remote.   The genre as a whole is one that you should check out.  Caravan Palace , Parov Stelar and The Correspondents have been great starts to my exploration of electro swing.

What is your current go to song?

“That’s Right!” by the SwinGrowers has been dancing it’s way through my head for the last week as I got prepared to hear them live.  Take a listen to this song and I guarantee that you will be toe tapping and swinging along to the hypnotically moving songs of this track.

What event are you looking forward to attending?

This weekend in Savannah at the Jazz’d Tapas Bar to hear Bottles and Cans for some blues and soul.  Savannah’s Historic Distric has a vibrant music scene so the rest of my time in Savannah will be just following the sound of the music.
