Soulshine Farm Music Festival on Green Mountain

The Soulshine Farm Music Festival in Green Mountain NC, was nothing short of amazing, from start to finish. Featuring musical acts from all over the state of North Carolina and further.   This year’s festival featured great music from bands such as DR. Bacon, The Freeway Revival, Yo Mamas Big Fat Booty Band, Empire Strikes Brass, the Mantras, and Come Back Alice from Sarasota FL.  There were three amazing stages setup a this year’s Soulshine: the Shine Stage, the Saw Mill Stage, and the Pine Stage. Each of the stages are beautiful in their own right, and they are within a smooth short walking distance from one another.

I arrived to the great funk-grass tunes of DR. Bacon, an amazing act out of Asheville NC, playing in the back ground as we were greeted by great big smiles and hugs from the event’s hosts Randi and Christopher Glover. The headlining band for the first evening was Come Back Alice on the main Shine Stage. The second day had so many amazing bands and a second Come Back Alice and  DR. Bacon set in between the headlining acts. The headlining acts for the second night were: Yo Mamas Big Fat Booty Band, The Mantras, and The Screaming J’s. The third night started off with Empire Strikes Brass and ended with The Fritz and The Screaming J’s.

This was Randi and Christopher Glover’s third year throwing the Soulshine Farm Music Festival and it won’t be their last. I know I will be returning to this wonderful piece of land in Green Mountain NC next year to enjoy another weekend of great music and art.
