East Atlanta Village was the center of the hip hop hurricane that swept through Atlanta last week as part of the A3C Festival and Conference. The music festival grounds were located in the heart of Atlanta’s Old 4th Ward and drew thousands of fans from across the world for hip-hop music, art, and culture.. On Friday night, Rick Ross, the first of many headline acts for the weekend hit the Gears of War stage.on the festival grounds. Other artists opening up for Rick Ross included: Royce 5’9″, Young Dolph, Stalley, Tall Black Guy, DJ Nobody, Bryan-Michael Cox and a Shawty Lo Tribute Show with D4L
Rick Ross, like many other performers at this year’s A3C, paid tribute to Shawty Lo. Rick Ross played “I’m Da Man.” much to the thrill of the crowd. Rick Ross performed many of his own hits including “Hustling”, “9 Piece”, Stay Schemin'”, “B.M..F.” and my favorite for the night “Purple Lamborghini.”
The show was one to remember with Rick Ross filling the interludes between songs with everything from Checker’s Hamburgers to Belaire Champage. This is an interesting mingling of brands that Rick Ross promotes: Checkers burgers are something that is a throw back to his days growing up in Miami when the funds were low and Belaire with his Black Bottle Boys shows his rise as a rap mogul.
