At the end of the summer “Black Beatles” by Rae Sremmurd featuring Gucci Mane was on replay on just about every dance party mix. This song being a hit should have been a given since “Mike WiLL Made It!” I won’t even trip about the comparison between them and the Beatles (they have a few more million record sales to get under their belt first). The guitar rhythm and the hook of the song is one that even gets old school hip hop heads like Antonius groovin’ to the trap beats. On it’s way to peaking at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, it was the primary sound track for just about everyone’s Mannequin Challenge videos.
Another indication of this songs massive appeal is Electronic Arts providing an exclusive preview to the official remix of “Black Beatles.” Today, EarDrummer Records and Interscope Records recording duo Rae Sremmurd made the announcement about the partnership. Produced by Madsonik and executive produced by Mike WiLL Made-It, the hard-hitting remix turns up for EA’s biggest first person shooter game Battlefield 1. With new lyrics set to the dawn of all-out warfare, the fresh new version gives a nod to heroic military soldiers. The exclusive trailer previews the epic multiplayer arms race with high-octane dogfights, obliterating battleships, twisting through the trenches of in your face warfare.
The “Black Beatles” remix will be available for purchase this Friday February 24 on iTunes. Check it out on Youtube:
That’s one way to breath new life into a song to get it back into rotation just as Spring rolls around.
