Once again the Living Room lounge space at the W Hotel Atlanta Midtown was filled with live music on Sunday evening, this time brimming with incredible jazz musicians. Darren English, the well-renowned, vastly-merited trumpeter hailing from South Africa, made an offer many of his friends could not refuse — after the Atlanta Jazz Festival, let’s hang out at the W lounge and jam.
Led by Darren English, on trumpet, who had just performed that afternoon at the Jazz Festival, the night’s jazzy delights were served up to us over a delicious four hours by…
- Che Marshall, drums
- Dave Potter, drums
- Derrick Jackson, trombone
- Deshawn Harper, bass
- Greg Robbins, vocals
- James Robertson, saxophone
- Joe Saylor, drums
- Kenny Banks, Jr., piano, member of the Darren English Quartet
- Kevin Bales, piano
- Mike Walton, tenor saxophone
- Philip Dizak, trumpet
- Rod Harris, Jr., guitar
- Saunders Sermons, trombone, vocals
- Terence Harper, trumpet
There were lots of happy faces in the crowd enjoying the music, signature cocktails from the bar and food from the W Atlanta Midtown’s Trace Restaurant. Enjoy a little bit of the music the night had to offer:
