Se’Von is a “Best Male Hip Hop Artist” GA Music Award Winner and has track that became part of the soundtrack of the NBA finals. He has also been seen touring with the hip-hop legend Rakim. It was great to get a chance to see what the talented hip hop performer to hear his thoughts on love songs, break up songs and Valentine’s day.
My favorite love song is probably “With You” from my good friend Tony Terry. It has special meaning to me because I know the story behind how the record came to be ( and It’s amazing). It is a record about his daughter… I have a daughter also which makes it all the more special .
Music has been the soundtrack to my life many many times… Many people do not know it but I was very close to committing suicide. It was shortly after my ex, of 5 years, left me on the same day my father died. I told God that if I looked in my beat folder and couldn’t find a song to write, its over. In the next 10 minutes I wrote a record called “Hole In One” amazing record. I’ll never release it but, it saved my life.
I have an original that’s perfect for Valentines Day, it’s called “You Are My Music” its only available on YouTube
I do not typically celebrate Valentines Day, I believe that commercializing a positive intimate feeling is counter-productive, ( Just my opinion )
Se’Von’s released his latest project Stadium of Hearts earlier this year and premiered it to the world at his birthday and album release party at iLounge in Atlanta. You can download his album at SevonMusic.com.
If you haven’t shared you favorite love song and favorite break up song we would love to hear from you. On Valentine’s Day I will pick my favorites from the submissions and give away t-shirts, stickers and tickets to an upcoming show.
