On Friday June 22, 2018 Lazy Bonez made its first ever appearance at MadLife Stage and Studios in Woodstock, Georgia. I had already seen bassist Ludwig Austin perform with his other two bands, Mock of Ages and Rockforce and knew of his incredible talent. I also had seen lead singer Eddie Smith in his band Mad Margritt and was so impressed with his vocal range and authentic hair metal “look”. When I saw the two of them were bandmates in the ultimate 80s Rock band experience named Lazy Bonez, I knew I couldn’t miss this show.
Joining with drummer Jwani Brito and lead guitarist Dorian Vaz, the band wowed the audience at MadLife with catchy hooks, guitar riffs, powerful ballads that were the epitome of hair metal elements. The sold-out crowd was up and dancing by the second song and didn’t sit down for the rest of the night.
The crowd was made up of multi-generational fans, all enjoying the music from my high school days. I even ran into three young men that had driven all the way to Woodstock, Georgia from Miami to come see Lazy Bonez perform. These fans were true “boneheadz” and were blown away by the evening’s performance.
Based out of Miami, Florida, Lazy Bonez stormed onto the scene back in September of 2010. Since then they’ve been rocking nonstop to gleeful crowds at countless parties, corporate events, clubs, cruise ships, festivals and concert halls all over the North American Continent… and all to rave reviews!
The band works tirelessly and meticulously at recreating the authentic sound, look and feel of the 80’s. It’s like a time warp that transports you to 1989… featuring hit songs from iconic bands such as Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Poison, Def Leppard, Van Halen, AC/DC and many more! Instead of paying tribute to just one band Lazy Bonez celebrated the entire genre of 80’s Rock!
