After being out of Atlanta for a decade, Ashley Sno returns to a safe and familiar place, putting her dream of being a full time musician to the test. Hailing from the DMV (the DC, Maryland, Virgina area for the uninitiated) but now calling Atlanta home, her journey is one that includes stops in California, Hawaii and Australia — places she’s showcased her hooping skills and finished her degree in communications. Though while in Hawaii, Ashley realized that she needed to exercise her talent somewhere more nurturing.
She got her initial taste of the ATL while attending high school in Lithonia, and for the young Ashley Sno, Atlanta has been an early-on and once-again saving grace. She says, “Atlanta was [both] my launching pad and how I was able to turn my life around and refocus.”
Since returning, singer, songwriter and musician, Ashley Sno has been working away furiously in her at home studio and testing her music on stage at festivals and venues around Atlanta. Passion for music shines through as you listen to her describe the music she wants to share with the world — a mix of hip hop, R&B and acoustic guitar.
Ashley recently launched an eleven week SoundCloud series to give listeners a chance to get familiar with her music. She’ll release two songs every week, one each Tuesday and another each Friday.
The first of these songs, Ashely Sno’s “Let it Rain”, was released three weeks ago on September 11th. She says about this song penned last year…
“When you open up to people, show them your scars and they let you down, it gets difficult to be vulnerable. It’s already difficult. But this is a story I’m sure you’ve heard. The lesson I learned is to cry your tears in front of people who care . I let it rain. I didn’t hide the tears. I didn’t disguise the pain. I gave of myself honestly.”
