What’s the best way to shake off some Thanksgiving turkey and recover from Black Friday chaos? Singing at the top of your lungs, dancing and partying like a rock star! That’s exactly what we did at the Buckhead Theatre with Mother’s Finest.
Mother’s Finest was founded in Atlanta in 1970 by Joyce “Baby Jean” Kennedy and Glenn “Doc” Murdock, guitarist Gary “Moses Mo” Moore and bassist Jerry “Wyzard” Seay. For almost 50 years the band has been thrilling fans with their funk rock performances. The band has a reputation for stealing the show when opening for bands like Black Sabbath, AC/DC, The Who and Aerosmith.
At tonight’s show the home town crowd knew just what to expect, a raucous good time! “Funk a While” was the perfect song to kick off the night. Since that’s exactly what the band did to keep the crowd rockin’. Despite tonight’s show being a reserved seat affair, the crowd quickly made their way to the aisles and packed in before the stage to move to the music and share in the adoration for Mother’s Finest.
Whether it’s a high energy love song like “Baby Love” or a cover of a soul classic like “Love Changes” or a roof raising inspirational song like “I Believe” Mother’s finest knows how to entertain the crowd. Take a listen to these songs on our YouTube channel.
