Nashville rock band Maradeen has been jamming on stage together since 2015. That’s also the year that a successful Kickstarter campaign helped the band to release their debut album, Mirage. Since then the band has released a second album, Above the Horizon, headlined their own tours across the country and shared the stage with acts like The Revivalists, Bon Jovi and Colonel Bruce Hampton. Here at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta Maradeen added the The Crash Test Dummies to the list of bands they have shared the stage with.
Maradeen’s set included a mix of songs from both albums and included their latest single “High Altitude” which was released in 2018. Listening to the lyrics of “High Altitude” I have to believe that the band is reflecting and projecting their thoughts about where their music will take them: “You can’t until you reach the stop, no you can’t stop…” The quintet describes their music as
blues, Southern rock, Americana, and jazz improvisation. On “High Altitude” the band takes on a dreamy California beaches type of vibe.
