Nashville based singer/songwriter Steff Mahan creates music that is an Americana mix of rock, roots, folk and country. Her love for music and desire to share this love with others is why Mahan plays music.
I wish we would just try to love not just one particular person but love everyone. Of course i don’t mean physically love everyone (we don’t want to get bad reputation for being sluts) but I wish we could all love each other in our hearts. Love the world more and be better stewards of all the beauty the world provides.
Valentine’s Day Q&A With Steff Mahan
What’s your favorite love song?
“You Bring Me Joy” by Anita Baker. It’s an oldie but a goodie. It not only says what you want to say to your special someone but it’s a great slow dance in the kitchen song.
What’s your favorite breakup song?
“Tonight I Want To Cry” by Keith Urban. It’s one of those songs and every time I listen to it it takes me back. So I can’t listen to it very often.
Is there one of your original songs that you think everyone needs on their valentine’s day playlist or on their breakup playlist?
For a romantic song “Save Yourself” with out a doubt. And for breakup songs, I have at least one on every album I have out….but this new album being released in March, well it will be the grand daddy of all sad albums.
Do you have any favorite traditions for valentine’s day?
I’ve actually played a show the last couple years on Valentine’s Day, and will be playing this year. It’s always amazing to me that people come and see me play on the day of love. Let’s face it, I have some sad ass songs. I think it’s like when I go to a horror movie and I leave feeling grateful I have my head intact cause it’s not been chopped off by a mutant . Maybe people feel the same way when they leave my shows.
