Roots music with front country

Roots music reminds me of Cajun gumbo, you never really know what’s in there but when done right it is oh so good. Front Country is a roots music band that does it oh so good. At first glance one expects a blue grass sound from the string band but they push the boundaries of bluegrass. Front country is Melody Walker, Jacob Groopman, Adam Roszkiewicz, Jeremy Darrow. They are:

A mandolinist with a degree in composition and classical guitar. A guitarist trained in rock and world music. A bassist equally versed in jazz and bluegrass. A female lead singer with grit and soul that was also a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter.

The band formed on the west coast in San Francisco’s Mission District and have since made their way to Nashville to continue to hone their craft. They took the trek down I-85 to hit the stage at Eddie’s Attic for a toe tappin’ foot stompin’ good time.

“If Something Breaks” is a track from Front Country‘s 2017album, Other Love Songs.. It’s a fun love song that showcases the bands spin on roots music.

Baby come on, let’s go
If something breaks, we’ll fix it on the road
And fight about it, on the way home
We run hot and we run cold
It ain’t perfect, Lord knows
But if something breaks, we can fix it on the road

“If Something Breaks” – Front Country

Front Country shared with the crowd at Eddie’s Attic a new song that will be on their next album. Take a listen to “I See You.” I hope that you have a friend or three in your life that sees you.
