The Grace of Lizz Wright at the Atlanta Jazz Fest

Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial kick off of summer for many. Every year to also kick off the summer Atlanta flocks to Piedmont Park for the City of Atlanta Jazz Festival. It’s been forty-two years since the first Atlanta Jazz Festival and every year artists from around the globe make there way to one of the stages to perform.

It’s a special treat when home town talent headlines the show. Lizz Wright was born a little south of Atlanta in Hahira, Georgia, yet she like many of us found her way to Atlanta to take advantage of the city’s vibrant culture. Today she gave back as she enriched the city with her voice in song on the Meadow Stage at the Atlanta Jazz Festival.

Lizz Wright’s voice has a grace, warmth and radiance that soothes the soul. With a mix of soul, jazz and southern gospel her performance at the Atlanta Jazz Festival was mesmerizing.
