Old School Funk with Brick

Ain’t no party like an old school party ’cause an old school party won’t stop! With the mixing of two bands, one disco and another jazz, the band Brick was formed in Atlanta back in 1976. Since then the band has been taking their funky of blend of music called dazz (disco jazz) and dusic (disco music) all around the world.

Brick “Dazz”

Brick‘s music has been fueling play lists at parties, skating rinks, and back yard BBQ’s for more than 40 years. Hearing Brick open up with “Sweat (Until You Get Wet)” was the perfect way to kick of a hot and steamy Sunday afternoon for the Funk It Up Old School Concert at the Mable House Barnes Amphitheater.

Brick “Ain’t Gonna Hurt Nobody”

Founding members Jimmy Brown on horns and Regi Harris on guitar are still going strong today. Take a listen to Brick getting down on Soul Train back in 1977.
